What’s the best part about your job?

There are two things I really love about my job –  my experience at Zenefits has given me the opportunity to build lasting relationships, both with Zenefits employees and with our external partners. Secondly, I’m constantly challenged in new and exciting ways, which means I’m always learning. That’s super important to me.

What was your hardest day at Zenefits?

November 3, 2014 (also my first day at Zenefits) was the toughest! I had to learn more than the average person would ever want to know about the health insurance industry, including acronyms, medical carrier regions and contacts, and every single step of a carrier’s back-end process. I learned more in my first day at Zenefits than most people learn in their first month at a new job, which was challenging, frightening, and invigorating all at once.

How would you describe the culture of your team?

My team is comprised of go-getters and problem solvers. We have a variety of talent and experience, and we’re constantly bouncing ideas off of each other and whiteboarding solutions. We have a deep layer of trust on our team, from our SVP down to each individual contributor.  There’s a perfect balance of working late to dedicate extra time to projects when necessary, and flexibility in being able to work from home or take time off. Half of my team has young children, so the work-life balance is crucial.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I love cooking, drinking delicious wine, swimming, running, and cycling.
