I joined Zenefits about 6 months ago when we were just turning the page on a new chapter with a fresh focus and vision for the business. From day one, I noticed that Zenefits’ thinking as a company is on technical proficiency lines. There is a continuous focus on architecting things in a way that requires less maintenance, and this is done with clear and focused direction from our tech leadership. We are now focussing heavily on reducing the technical debt from our growth spurt, as well as on building scalable, future-proof solutions. With that said, I think the best part of my work is getting to build alongside Silicon Valley innovators and be at the forefront of a changing an industry.
Being that I haven’t yet been at the company for a year, I think this day has yet to come. Since I have joined, I have seen utmost management transparency and adequate work-life balance.
I would buy a farm somewhere close to my native village, hand it over to a tenant farmer on a two-year contract and leave with my better half on a tour of the Himalayas.
I work in the Bangalore office where we have the advantage of having a small team. My specific team and the whole organization in Bangalore is close-knit and feels like a family. It’s a pleasure to come to work every day knowing that you always have someone to step out for tea or snacks with. You can be sure that there is at least one non-work related discussion every day and that we all will jostle our points as if we were in a college dorm debate. And through all that excitement, our PRs get reviewed and merged like clockwork. We have a great community culture here in Bangalore.
